Breast Augmentation Surgery
Women choose to enlarge their breasts for many reasons, and in any case breast augmentation can have a positive and significant effect on your life. You may feel insecure about your breasts if they are too small for your body, their shape has changed because of significant weight loss or breastfeeding, or perhaps one breast is larger than the other. Breast augmentation surgery is designed to change the size, shape and roundness of the breast using silicone gel implants, and many women indicate that they feel like real breasts.
How is breast augmentation surgery performed?
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 40 minutes to an hour and a half, during which the implants are inserted to shape your breasts. The type, size and location of the implants will be determined according to your body features: breast shape, body structure, skin type, and tissue flexibility. The surgeon will make a small incision in the fold under the breast, or around the nipple or underarm, depending on the selected technique. The implants will be placed in one of the possible locations through the incision: above the muscle to the thoracic muscle or under the muscle in part.
What to expect after surgery?
After surgery you will remain in the hospital for several hours up to 24 hours. Breast size change is immediately visible, and the next day you will already enjoy increased breast volume. However, in the period after surgery breasts are harder and may be located relatively high. Don’t worry, within about three months the breasts will become soft and achieve their final shape and location. The thin scar will disappear almost completely after one year. It is recommended to wear a sports bra for support for a period of one month.
